Blumenkohl mit Hackfleisch
CAULIFLOWER WITH GROUND BEEF
1 ½ lb. cauliflower
1 ½ lb. ground beef
1 medium onion (diced)
1 16oz. can whole peeled tomatoes (chopped)
salt, pepper, nutmeg, paprika
1 8oz. can tomato sauce
4 tablespoons evaporated milk
oregano
4 tablespoons grated Parmesan
Wash cauliflower, break into flowerets, cook for 15 minutes and drain. Brown ground beef and discard fat. Add diced onions and sauté until onions are brown. Add chopped tomatoes, season with salt, pepper, nutmeg and paprika and simmer for 10 minutes. Pour beef mixture into a greased casserole (2½ quarts) and place flowerets in the middle. Mix tomato sauce with evaporated milk, season with salt, pepper and oregano and pour over cauliflower. Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake in a preheated over at 400º for 20 minutes.
