Gefülltes Brot
FILLED BREAD
½ lb. ground beef
1 small onion (diced)
1 4oz. can mushrooms, stems and pieces
2 tablespoons parsley (chopped)
1 large egg
salt and pepper
nutmeg
8oz. cheese (German butter cheese or Munster shredded)
1 8oz. loaf French bread
Brown meat and discard fat. Add onion and drained mushrooms and cook for five minutes. Add parsley, cheese and egg and mix well. Season with pepper, nutmeg and salt. Slice off the top of the bread and scoop out the inside. Fill with the meat mixture and bake in a preheated over at 425º for 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted.
