ALLERGY AWARENESS COMMITTEE

Oak Ridge is a PEANUT RESTRICTED school. Classrooms are TREE NUT and PEANUT RESTRICTED.

A committee at Oak Ridge was formed to address the increasing prevalence of food allergies amongst our young people.  The goal is to ensure that students with food allergies have a safe and welcoming learning environment.

The Allergy Awareness Committee is working with the PTA and school staff to provide awareness and education about food allergies as well as procedures for minimizing risks to the students. Children with food allergies face life-threating reactions when these allergens are ingested or in some cases, inhaled.
